Windows 7 Upgrade License with fresh install activation error

admin | January 30, 2010 in Computer Fix, Windows 7 | Comments (0)

ERROR:: 0xC004F061

You might have done a fresh install and only have  upgrade licensing for windows 7.  Bad news, you have to reinstall XP then install Windows 7 from INSIDE your XP install.

If you don’t wand to upgrade the XP to Windows 7 you can choose custom options, but you must still have XP loaded on this system.

From Microsoft:

“If you want to format the hard drive, and you are using an upgrade version of Windows 7, you’ll need to start your computer using the Windows 7 upgrade DVD, click Custom (advanced), and then click Drive options (advanced).”

Tired of looking everyone for simple control panels in windows 7 and vista? Now you can access everything within one folder.
Introducing Windows God Mode!

Create a folder anywhere, rename this folder:

GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

Now you have a folder with lots of easy to use tools.
I believe this also works on windows vista.
