Need a fix for the newest Adobe Exploit under Windows. Microsoft’s Enhanced Mitigation Experience Toolkit (EMET) would stymie attacks targeting Reader and Acrobat. here the press release from Adobe, http://www.adobe.com/support/security/advisories/apsa10-02.html This is a work around until Adobe finds a fix.

Windows 7 Upgrade License with fresh install activation error

You might have done a fresh install and only have upgrade licensing for windows 7. Bad news, you have to reinstall XP then install Windows 7 from INSIDE your XP install.

If you don’t wand to upgrade the XP to Windows 7 you can choose custom options, but you must still have XP loaded on this system.

From Microsoft:

“If you want to format the hard drive, and you are using an upgrade version of Windows 7, you’ll need to start your computer using the Windows 7 upgrade DVD, click Custom (advanced), and then click Drive options (advanced).”

To change your product key in Windows 7. Open an elevated command prompt, then type the following

I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate, It seems faster than the RC1 release and seems to have a few bug fixes as well as better driver support. Got the error “This Connection is Untrusted”

This is a website trying to make a secure connection with your computer, this is normally good for people that want higher security on their browser connection. Sometimes this can be bad if some is trying to Phish your information, google “phishing” for more information on this.

First check the address, I highlighted this in the first picture with a red box. If you trust the address you can proceed.

Click “I Understand the Risks”

Click “Add Exception…”

Click “Get Certificate”

Click “Confirm Security Exception”

You should now have a secure connection to the site, verify the address in the address bar is correct again, especially if you are using a bank or credit account.

Sound Blaster Live + Windows 7 and Vista Driver Works!

Cant get that sound blaster to work in the new versions of windows? Here is the last place from creative to download the soundblaster live drivers that actually work with Windows 7 and Vista. You need LiveDrvUni-Pack(ENG).exe

Click: Sound Blaster Live! – LiveDrvUni-Pack (English)

Click through agree with the terms and click the YES button or

What you need is the driver pack and winrar, just unrar the driver pack to a folder, go into your device manager, and right-click on the mulitmedia device not found, update the driver, and browse for file, point the file to the directory you just created with the extracted LiveDrvUni-Pack(ENG).exe

It looks like creative has been pulling this file, the asia site is the only link I could find, if anyone else has an official mirror, please post.

This is tested with the CT4670. I think it is a Sound Blaster Live! Value, will try it with a ct4780 Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 next.
