Here are some steps to adjust the performance and visual effects after you install:

1. Go to System Properties (press Windows + Pause/Break keys)
2. Select Advanced
3. Press the Settings button in the Performance section
4. A new window will open
5. Select Adjust for best performance radio button

You can select the best options for your CPU and Memory in your computer.

To install True type fonts in Linux: Ubuntu, etc:

# cd /usr/share/fonts/truetype
# mkdir windowsfonts

Copy the true type fonts from the location to the new font directory:

# cp /media/sdb1/Windows/fonts/*.ttf .

# chown root.root *.ttf
# chmod 644 *.ttf

# mkfontdir

# fc-cache
